A New York Moment

Every so often we get out and do something that is quintessentially NYC just to remind ourselves that we really do live in the greatest city in the world and there are so many fun and FREE things to do here. Some friends of ours got tickets to Dave Letterman the other night, and we were lucky enough to be invited to come along. I went 2 years ago, but it's so much more fun with Cameron :) I have to say that my favorite part of the show was watching the "Best of" clips during the commercial breaks. Is that bad? I started to think about what it must be like to be Dave Letterman and have to be funny pretty much every day of your life. That must be hard some days. I am a pretty happy person and like to laugh and joke around, but there are days when I just don't feel like it. I am sure Dave has those too, but too bad, right? Be funny. Anyway, it was a lot of fun to be there with friends. I don't think the nairn enjoyed how loud it was because he kept kicking me when the band would start to play. I think he was trying to sleep and we were disturbing his beauty rest. Better get used to it, kid. This is a loud city.

It's always fun playing tourist at home. We haven't left our Harlem/Morningside bubble in a while and we're starting to get antsy - ready for spring and fun NY outings! Letterman sounds like a good one.

It is good to take advantage of the city every once in awhile. I hear you on the baby kicking thing. We took Morgan in utero to a Barenaked Ladies concert and he didn't stop jumping and kicking the whole time. It was like having a party going on inside and out!
