Little Red Lighthouse

Have you seen it? Have you read the book? If you live in NYC, you should visit this little treasure. And if you come to visit, skip Times Square, rent a bike and spend the morning/afternoon along the Hudson.

Although it has been unbearably hot the past few days, we decided to get out and go an adventure anyway with our friends, the Salmons. John and Emmi are frenemies... mostly friends, but you know how it is amongst 3 year olds. Getting there was a bit of hike, but we enjoyed the riverside views, throwing rocks in the Hudson, reading the storybook and eating lunch all in the company of the grand Little Red Lighthouse.

I love it when I get to check one of my summer to dos off the list. Still to check... Brooklyn Bridge, Governor's Island, the Intrepid, sailboats in Central Park...

Looks like a fun outing. Way to brave the heat! Ezra loves the book, but we have yet to take him to see it. One time (pre-childeren) we were lucky enough to ride up there when they were letting people in the lighthouse. I think they do it a couple of times a year-maybe worth looking into.

Also, I love the action shot of Emmi and John with their sticks.
