Small Successes and Growing Up

We successfully weaned JH from the swaddle. It was a rough go for about a week or so as sleeping was difficult for the little man without being in his straight jacket, but he is now happy in his freedom to move about the cabin. He was ready. Where we used to wake up and find him with an arm out only occasionally, we were suddenly finding him with both arms out nightly almost within an hour or two of going to bed. Victory for all of us as we are all sleeping better at night.
And the little man is cutting his first 2 teeth. I thought we were going to have a wailing fest through this ordeal, but he has handled it like a champ only occasionally getting cranky and sad. I can feel the teeth coming up with my finger, which makes Cameron and I a little sad. I will miss his toothless grin, and this is just one more sign that my baby is quickly growing up. You can pretend for a while that they are still your little babies when they don't have teeth, but we are on a whole new level now.

So I just cherish my occasional snuggle time and the random naps we take together. I will take that as long as I can.

Watching them grow is bitter-sweet isn't it? I miss so many parts of the baby stage, but love where they are now too...crazy. My "baby" just officially got out of diapers....I was relieved, but yet very sad at the same time!!

Watch the snuggle time once he has teeth. If he buries his face into you prepare for a bite! It is one of Luke's favorite games but not mine!
