Fourth of July Playland Style

I have never been to Playland but Cameron and his brothers talk about it all the time. Fortunately, their cousins - lovingly referred to as The Twins (Ben and Spencer) are here visiting in the Big Apple for a few days, and I have the pleasure of experiencing Playland for a round of mini golf. In the Kelly family, they like to play a little something called Ghetto Golf... which I cannot entirely explain, but it is rather competitive and always funny. I usually just spend the time playing the basketball game in the arcade when these things happen, but I got to play a little ghetto golf myself this time, and ghetto it was. It was probably the worst mini golf course I have ever played on... completely chewed up greens, totally ghetto in every sense. But we had a good time. I was off to a rough start, to which I attribute my awkward and skewed sense of balance these days, but once I strapped the camera around my waist, it sort of balanced me out, and I had a good game. I even got a hole in one once or maybe twice :) Cameron was the reigning champion and holder of crown, but he had a terrible game and ended up in last place. Allison took first, and I was one stroke behind. Who says girls can't be champs at ghetto golf?In addition, there was some skeeball, the purchase of some terribly cheap prizes with the tickets and some fireworks to top it all off. Not a bad Fourth if I do say so...

sounds fun. I LOVE skeeball. I used to be pretty good. I think mini-golf is an under-appreciated "sport."

Are you going to post about the "Official" Ghetto Golf Charter that was signed last night? I mean, where would we all be without the rules written down for us?

p.s. It was so good to see you and Cam yesterday. We love you guys!
