A Winter Weekend

We had a bit of rain and wintry mix all day Thursday and through the night, and we woke up to a splendid sight of winter solstice beauty. Our good friends Mala and Mason were in town as well as her brother Ashton and his wife KC. I took Friday off and we wandered around town.

Unfortunately, I do not have any pictures of Mals this trip. Saturday night Cameron and I went with his siblings to the Bay Ridge area of Brooklyn for a little Christmas light viewing. There are a few streets that are just decked out in all the outdoor Christmas decorations you can imagine. There are a couple of places like that in Vegas, so I wasn't entirely shocked.

Cam and Ian could not stop laughing about the guy dressed up as Frosty. They kept saying it reminded them of their younger brother Chas, so they had to get a picture with him.
Yes, this is all one house. Every inch of this house was covered with gaudy spectacularness. Do I dare mention that it was freezing outside....

Hey Nikki! Don't be scared that I've already stalked you out and we only left you 24 hours ago. Just wanted to tell you 1.) Thank you again for letting us invade your apartment and 2.) On the plane ride home, I was watching some HGTV show called "Check out that decked-out Christmas house!" or something equally long... and guess what was the featured neighborhood?! Brooklyn! I saw the exact house you are freezing in front of in the picture! And, as you may or may not know, the lady who owns this house started it for the whole neighborhood, and there are more than 40 angels in the yard!

Sometimes I wish I could walk out my front door and see snow, but I am glad that I don,t have to shovel it all winter. It looks so pretty out there where you took those pictures.Hope you have a Merry Christmas.

Your hair looks GREAT!!! It's so pretty! I love reading about life in NYC! Especially the piano story, my favorite lately. And the midnight run. I need to do that next year if there is one in San Francisco. Take care!
