Six months and some bubbles

Cameron and I have been married for 6 months as of yesterday, and I have to say that the fall weather we have been experiencing has been much more pleasant than the spring of our wedding. But the past six months have been fun and wonderful. Our good friend Aaron Brown, who made our fantastic wedding cake, is a pastry chef at Gramercy Tavern, which happens to be one of the best restuarants in town. Since there is a chance Aaron might change restaurants in the future, we decided to take advantage of the opportunity to go while we know someone there. We were lucky enough to grab a reservation on Friday night. There is definitely a reason why these restaurants are expensive - the service is amazing, the food like nothing you've ever had before and the ambience unmatched. I can honestly say I have never been treated as well as I was Friday night. I couldn't decide between 2 of the entrees, so the waiter asked if I trusted him, to which I replied, "of course." After our first course - 2 outstanding pasta dishes - our waiter brought us a mid course (not part of the prix fixe menu). The chef had prepared a small portion of one of the entrees for both of us. Awesome. Then came the second course... fantastic. And since Aaron is the pastry chef, instead of having one dessert we had a 4 course dessert. Yes, we had 6 different desserts between the 2 of us, all of which were absolutely divine. As if I would expect anything less from Aaron. It was a wonderful evening and good way to spend our half-a-versary.
On Saturday we went to New Jersey to spend the rest of the weekend with Cam's siblings. We watched conference and checked out the town celebration while playing with Millie. How can you not love an adorable little face like hers? She had fun blowing bubbles with Uncle Cam on the back porch and playing with Playdough. We thoroughly enjoyed the unseasonably warm October weather as well as the lingering fruits of the local farmers market. I am looking forward to our apple picking excursion at the end of the month, which will surely involve pumpkins and perhaps a hayride...

Isn't Gramercy Tavern the best?!? Did you have the bread pudding? I'm not exaggerating when I say--it changed my life. My favorite thing about the whole experience was how they give you a muffin to take with you for breakfast the next morning (of course I ate mine in the cab on the way home). Call me--are you still on for P&P club tomorrow night?

Love the pictures, love the story, LOVE THE BANGS!! Cameron, if things don't work out with you job, you should consider cutting fringe for a living. When will I see the two of you again?

Nikki you are so lucky to be in a place that has amazing dining. How wonderful. I dream of being able to have 6 different desserts at one time.

Nikki, I just love seeing all of your pictures. Seeing how much you and Cam love each other really reminds me how important the companionship is. The kids are just an added bonus but not the true reason to get married. Thanks for being so in love and reminding me of the importance of time with the one you truely love.

Oooh...fun dinner!! And by the way, why do you always have such cute clothes on? Maybe we should go shopping when you're here!

I must say, please forgive me for not commenting more on the Muse and on your blog. I read it often! I am sorry to hear about your family member passing. Isn't it great to have the gospel.

I must say that you found your match Nikki! Congrats on your "6 mo. Anniversary". He is just a babe and you seem to match so well. I am so jealous of your adventures in the city. Thanks for sharing all of your amazing thoughts and stories!
