A manly domain

I am not sure why, but it seems anytime there is a bbq, there will be men standing around participating in this manly ritual. Rarely do you see a woman sweating over the coals flipping burgers and demonstrating her rank at the top of the food chain. That isn't to say that women don't know how to use a grill or bbq because I know a lot of fine women who are masters at the pit, but it never seems to be as obvious as when the guys are surrounding the fire.
We went to a barbecue on Monday for Labor Day at the home of our friends - the Adams. We were joined by many other fun friends as well. There is nothing like buying a cheap grill at the local hardware store and setting up in the projects across the street because your property doesn't allow grilling on site. It seemed appropriate considering we live in Harlem and people just set up grills on the sidewalk wherever they please. We left the grill to cool while we went inside and ate the fruits of our labor. True to Harlem fashion, that grill was gone by the time we left, so Cody just took the box and left it by where the grill had been. Perhaps whoever took it would like to store it in the box. At least now Cody and Beth won't need to store it for the ensuing winter. Happy Labor Day in the land of the free!

Sad we missed the bar-b-q and are you serious? It got stolen? Why do I love our lives out here?
