In preparation for our big 200-mile relay coming up next weekend, we decided to rally the team by hosting a midnight run followed by waffles. The reasoning behind this is...1) every person on the team will have to run during the night at some point, so it's good to get a feel for this. 2) it builds team spirit... that's what this is all about, right? 3) it gets my team running. 4) it's a good excuse to hang with friends and eat waffles at 2 am. So we found ourselves gathering at casa de kelly at midnight on Sunday/Monday preparing for a nice 6.2 in the park. There were 10 of us there, which was great, and we all finished in good time with the buddy system - no running by yourself in the dark in the park... no good. It was fun and we even had some unexpected non running friends waiting for us on our stoop when we were done. Then the waffle eating commenced completely counteracting the running we just did, but who cares :) The relay last year was awesome, but I think it's going to be even better this year.
