Springtime Envy

We love spring in NY, at least the spring like days we dream about all winter that are gorgeous, warm and full of beauty. We have enjoyed a few of those over the past week, so we did what any self-respecting New Yorker would do and spent them outside. My good friend Mala was in town over the weekend, so we spent Friday afternoon near Bethesda Fountain, riding the carousel and watching John climb the structures in the sandbox. And since it was still lovely out yesterday, Cameron met John and I at the great lawn where we enjoyed a picnic (well, Cameron and I did), while John ran all over the lawn trying to accost other people's playing balls. He managed to find a softball without an owner and it was like finding a treasure. We walked partway home by the reservoir along our favorite path where the trees are in full bloom. It never lasts long enough, so I am glad we were able to make it happen. Thanks to some nice folk out for a leisurely stroll along the same path, we were even able to document the event.

And lastly, John has a new love for the bus. He would ride it all day long if he could. We actually rode on the bus 4 times yesterday, which is a record for us, but he was in heaven.

Beautiful pictures and family as always. I love John Henry's face in the bus picture and the reflection of the sad contemplative New Yorker in the window. I think Morgan's been in bus withdrawel since we left:)

I would have thought I would get back here before now to tell Cameron that he is also very good at taking pictures.
