Really Terrible Orchestra

That's not just a description but the actual name of the orchestra we saw at The Town Hall last night from Scotland. We were given tickets last minute by Cameron's brother in law, who would not be able to attend, and although they are not the philharmonic, the performance was absolutely wonderful, entertaining and comical. Alexander McCall Smith, the genius behind the No. 1 Ladies Detective Agency novels, is the founder of this magnificent group, which started over a decade ago for people who didn't feel talented enough for real performance. This was their first trip to NYC, and there was only one show, so we feel lucky we got to attend. We even had some audience participation sing along to the Sound of Music songs. The bagpipers were awesome as well, and I had dreams of JHK one day wanting to learn how to play them. It was a wonderfully unexpected night and a treat. I love Scotland!

This sounds like tons of fun! Also I LOVE the picture you put at the top of JH, it's adorable...you know you might get some photography requests from me when the new one comes along!

Hey have you read those novels by Alexander McCall Smith? My mom just gave me one to read. Are they good?
