My good friend and old roommate Mala came to visit this past weekend, and it was fantastic. I cannot think of a better way to spend President't Day weekend than with this girl. JHK was smitten... and so was Mala.
In honor of Valentine's Day, we all went to the
Burger Joint. It was JHK's first time, but it's time he be introduced to this historic venue as it was where Cam and I spent our first Valentine's Day and all the subsequent V days not to mention most monumental events in our lives. I let him gnaw on a few fries to commemorate the experience. Thank you, Mike, for humoring us and relenting. Shake Shack next occasion, I promise.
And since Mala is a huge Broadway fan, one of the things on her list was to see a show. We decided to wait in the cancellation line for
South Pacific. Wow... what a great NY experience. We met some great and crazy people in the line, and we had a blast. It was a very entertaining three hours. And even though we did get called for tickets, we decided $125 was a little too much, so we went to Patsy's for dinner instead. The sweet Bostonian couple Lee and Frank behind us in line who were celebrating their 34th wedding anniversary were gracious. We hope they had a smashing Valentine's Day and anniversary.
It was surely a Mala weekend with friends, laughter, good stories and memories to take along. We hope she will come again soon, but if not at least we will see her in a couple of weeks at
this lady's wedding. Love you Mals!
