Eat Nuts but don't go nuts...

I was just reading an article on MSN (after I bypassed the main article of "How to Leave your Husband"... out of principle I should stop reading MSN altogether for even posting such a ridiculous article) about the nutritious elements of nuts. I have long been a nut lover... can anyone say peanut butter? I eat peanut butter almost every day of my life, and I love it. Nuts are your friends, people. Eat them and love them. Despite their fat content (it's good fat, btw... omega 3s are good for you), they contain a lot of vitamins and minerals and it doesn't take a lot to make you satisified. It's the perfect snack food.


Here are the top 6 most nutritious nuts...

1. walnuts
2. almonds
3. peanuts
4. pistachios
5. pecans
6. hazelnuts


However... in conjunction with our efforts to eat less edible foodlike substances, steer clear of overly salted and oiled nuts. Go for the raw version... they are better for you.

I live for peanuts. Best peanut butter ever--wild oats chunky. My favorite way to eat a walnut is with a date. But my absolute favorite is salted and roasted peanuts in the shell. They are hard to come by. THey are often roasted, but not salted and I do LOVE salt.
