A typical weekend

It was a busy weekend but a productive one. Here's what happened...

Friday night - dinner at the Clegg's house of tomato soup and grilled cheese - perfect for a rainy night. Great conversation, good music and lots of brain activity. A success.

Saturday - run in Central Park, which is essential. An attempt at making mozzarella cheese, which produced only a moderate amount of cheese, but we believe we have recognized the error of our ways and next time will be more fruitful. President Hinckley's funeral services, which were touching and edifying and a relaxing way to spend the afternoon. There was some grocery shopping, some cleaning, a search for Hawaiian sweet bread (which I do not think we can get out here in the East) and a quick stop at Levain Bakery for some cookies we would partake of later in the evening. Then we headed down through the park to Five Guys, a new burger joint that originated in DC, to meet our good friends Norris and Jenn Chappell. Burgers were good, fries were greasy and my body decided it would not like that again for some time, but it was tasty. So we decided to walk off our dinner up to the Met where we hung out in the African exhibits the new Oceanic exhibit for the people of New Guinea (pretty awesome if you haven't seen it) and up to the new wing of the late 19th/early 20th century European art - some of my favorites. It's like visiting old friends. I never tire of looking at Renoir, Degas and Monet. We parted ways with our dear friends, hopped a bus home and watched the rest of the Rockefeller documentary from netflix while eating my chocolate chocolate chip cookie from Levain Bakery. A good day.

We enjoyed our walk through Central Park past the Imagine mosaic near 72nd street and the crazy guy who lays out the flowers was there. People were asking him all kinds of questions, and he seemed to know everything there was to know about Lennon. Kind of creepy, but the mosaic is beautiful. Then we came across the dancing skaters, which I am sorry to say I do not have a photo of, but they are fun to watch. And there was a rastafarian, who kind of dressed like a clown, but had the most amazing bike. I think we both fell in love with it.

We are in love with each other, our life and our city.

Looks like a very exciting and fun weekend to me.

p.s. I love Levain. But I'm currently avoiding the place learning to "pace" myself.

You guys totally need that bike. From now on when I imagine you riding your bikes across the bridge, it will be that one.
