Water

One of my New Year's goals was to drink more water... and it had to be quantifiable so I committed to drinking 5 classes of water a day, which would be 40 ounces if we were using 8 oz. glasses. It's not that I don't like water. In fact, it is usually my beverage of choice, but for some reason I do not find myself thirsty enough throughout the day to necessitate the imbibing of 8 glasses of water as is recommended. My husband can without blinking an eye. I don't even drink water when I am running or immediately after unless it's really hot outside. Probably to my detriment, I have trained my body to do without it while running. But alas, the goal was made, and it is not in my nature to back away from a challenge. And a challenge it is.

I sit here at work staring at this Poland Springs bottle all day long trying to get to the bottom of it so I can refill it. I got so frustrated the other day because I drank only 2.5 of these bottles while at work, and I felt like I would drown if I drank any more. How was I ever going to make my quota for the day? Then I realized that I was not drinking out of a normal Poland Springs bottlebeen, which is about 9 ounces but out of the new Eco-Shape bottle which is actually .5L, or 16.9 oz according to http://www.onlineconversion.com/. So I am not only saving the environment but getting more water than I thought I was.

Yesterday I downed a thing of chocolate milk approximately the same size in about 7 minutes. Why is it so hard with water? I don't get it.

I LOVE water and have always picked it as my beverage of choice but I've noticed since I'm home all day I can get to the end of the day and realize I have had maybe one glass. Great challenge and the new bottles are pretty cool!

Maybe your body just doesn't need as much as you think. You aren't a very big girl, and you probally eat enough fruits and vegetables to cover fluids...I don't know just a thought!!

I have the same thing with water. I never drink as much as they say I should. I remember in school that we read a study proving that everyone has their own water need and it isn't the same as others. So the out come was to drink as much as you feel your body needs. I still don't drink enough, but I go off of my pee. What color is it? Hows that for blog talk :)

I actually hate to drink water. I have tried everything to get myself to do it more often, and it doesn't really work that well for me. I keep lots of bottled water in the fridge - thinking I can just grab one and drink the whole thing, doesn't work. I have heard if you drink it through a straw you drink more? Who knows! Good luck!
