Merry Christmas to us!

Cameron bought me this for Christmas...

The guys who moved it up to our apartment were comical. If I hadn't been hiding in the bedroom out of fear they were either going to drop it or break the stairs, I would have filmed it. They were huffing and puffing and making a big to do... now I know a piano is heavy. I have moved one before, but these guys are piano movers. It should come as no surprise to them that it weighs 500 pounds. Anyway, it's beautiful and fun, and now I have no excuse not to practice. I suck after not playing for 10 years... as Cameron says I am just slow. Everything is in slow motion. And you can forget about accompaniment. I can't play while people sing to save my life. Perhaps someday.
And these....
are all the boxes that are crowding up my hallway. When I was home for Christmas, we finally went to my storage unit and cleaned out most of my stuff. There are a few items left that need to be sold or donated, but most of it got packed up in boxes and freighted to our apartment in NYC. All 15 boxes arrived and settled in my living room on Thursday. I spent Thursday night, Friday night, and Saturday morning unpacking them, trying to find a place for all of it and then cleaning up the mess I made. Ironically, the boxes arrived on recycle day, so I have to wait until tomorrow night to cart out all these boxes. But at least most of my stuff is now in my possession. Dinner party anyone?
That being said... for any of my Las Vegas friends... I have this in my storage unit...

It's a Currier upright piano. It needs to be tuned and has a few knicks and scratches on it, but all the keys work and it is a great piano. If you know anyone who is looking for a piano but doesn't want to spend the money for a new one... I am selling this one for $500. Let me know if you know anyone who might be interested.

Nikki, What a perfect present!! Especially since you had to leave your other one behind in the storage unit. Wish I were in Vegas, I would buy it!

What a fabulous Christmas present!! How exciting for you! Practice up and pretty soon you'll be accompanying the ward choir! My sister-in-law has been looking for a piano. I'll pass the word along.
