Remember how Linus used to wait for the Great Pumpkin to rise up out of the patch to give gifts to all the good girls and boys? What ever happened with that? Did the G.P. actually come? Did Snoopy arrive on the scene and save poor, misguided Linus from disappointment and despair? I honestly can't remember. Still, Linus believed it so much that I really thought it was going to happen sometimes, even though it was the same Charlie Brown Halloween special every year. That Linus... he didn't know Halloween from a hole in the ground, but he sure could recite a mean Luke 2.
Halloween isn't really my forte either, which is why these pictures are a few days late. This year was pretty tame. We ended up having two trick-or-treaters (who were scheduled in advance with us by their parents two doors down) and then watched Mr. Smith Goes to Washington until we couldn't stay awake any longer.
So the Jack-O-Lantern Blaze up in the W-Chester was the beginning and end of my celebrations for Halloween. Unless you count the youth dance, which, although Halloween 'themed' was officially announced as the Fall Dance. (Kinda sounds like the hip new step that's all the rage with the kids these days, doesn't it? "Everybody put your hands in the air! And fall over like you just don't care!" Hmm... could be painful.) But I'm forgetting the Parade of Ghouls at St. John's! How silly of me. That was frightfully festive. But since I don't have any pictures of that to post, I'd better not get into it.
